Youth Ambassadors Program™
Children are greatly affected by incarceration of a parent or family member
Guidance for any child is paramount in building the citizens of tomorrow. No greater loss is that of a parent without understanding all of the reasons why mommy or daddy is no longer able to come home. Understanding the world around them and the rules created by adults can be very difficult for children to comprehend.
Our Youth Ambassadors Program™ is open to all justice impacted children 8-17 years old, living in Texas. We provide events, counseling, educational opportunities and support providing clarity and more in a compassionate way.
Originally created for the youth of incarcerated parents, by request, our doors are now open to CASA kids and children of parents on probation.
These events and services are provided as a result of the work our ambassadors do and the strong partner programs TX C.U.R.E. aligns itself.
If you have a justice impacted child or grandchild living in Texas, consider enrolling them into our program.
BECOMING AN AMBASSADOR
To help ensure a positive desire to grow through the program, we have five levels of Ambassadorship, Junior Ambassador, Service Member, Legislative Counselor, Ambassador at Large, and Ambassador
- Junior Ambassadors are all initial participants.
- Service Members are participants who have participated in five consecutive events, and by the third event, have demonstrated leadership qualities, assisting in all areas of event activities and mentoring newer or younger participants.
- Legislative Counselors are participants who have an interest in the Legislative process. This involves trips to the State Capitol, meeting legislators and staffers, watching legislative hearings and learning to understand the process of making laws.
- Ambassadors at Large* are participants who earned the lower-level status’, have reached 15 years old and have successfully attended and engaged in leadership roles in consecutive program events all across the state over an eighteen-month
- Ambassador* is the most honorary position. The Ambassador should be between ages 15-17, 18 if they are still in school. Ambassadors have earned all lower-level status and have successfully attended and engaged in program opportunities, leadership and consecutive program events over at least a two-year period and for those who are 16 or older and are in the workforce, have successfully completed a C.U.R.E. Partners In Education KSA Certificate program, or who have enrolled and successfully complete a C.U.R.E.-LUV Spirit robotic and/or drone certification program.
- PARENTS of participating youth are required to actively participate and engage with their youth
Even if you do not have a participating child, you too can be a part of these children lives in many ways with your donations or just simply volunteering some of your time.
